“I became a surrogate because I wanted to help someone in a way that not everyone can. I wanted to give the joy and crazy adventures of parenthood to someone who otherwise would not be able to do it for themselves. I am overjoyed to be able to continue to help families grow, but in a different way.”
Intended Parent Coordinator
Melissa’s position with Surro Connections is to help educate and support Intended Parents through their journey to parenthood. Melissa’s personal experiences had her turn to surrogacy after years of trying. She went through many rounds of clomid, IUI’s, IVF’s and FET’s. After many negative tests and a devastating loss at 20 weeks, she turned to surrogacy. In 2014 her heart and home welcomed the birth of her identical twin girls.
Her husband John has always been her rock. Together for 24 years, he is a hard worker with a calm nature, supports Melissa and loves his girls. When she has free time, Melissa loves to bake and read. She has stayed active in the surrogacy community to help other Intended Parents fulfill their dream of becoming parents.
Melissa is well known in the surrogacy industry as being an outspoken advocate of always doing the right thing. Her own surrogacy journey brought to light the integrity of the surrogacy professionals and wants to advocate for educating people on their choices and how they can make the best choices for themselves and their future family. She feels Intended Parents that are more educated in the process, and the professionals they surround themselves with, will make their process less stressful and more successful overall. Her heart breaks for Intended Parents that have to endure more emotional stress than necessary; they have already been through so much to get to this point.
Melissa is a wonderful support, always available, and cares so deeply about ensuring your journey is as seamless as possible.
